The New Work Evolution

Staying employed today involves wrapping your head around a whole new work/career paradigm. Today’s career path is constantly changing, due to evolving technology and rapid communications. Add in the major dislocations going on in business today and we’ve got a whole new landscape to deal with. How do we keep up?  Can we?

Yes, we can! It takes a willingness to make big adjustments, however, sometimes at lightning speed. Careers that were once stable, both financially and geographically, are now evolving quickly, forcing us to evolve with them.

Hold on, is that what it takes to survive these days? “Evolving” from a slithering reptile into a monkey and then a Neanderthal and than a guy in a business suit?  Hey, let’s not get carried away. What it takes is information, resourcefulness and a willingness to travel light—career wise. That may mean you’ll be ready and willing to take a freelance version of a job you once did on a fulltime basis. You may have to move around the country, or even overseas, in order to keep working.
